Zhang Gaoli Meets with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore,

On September 15, 2014, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli met respectively with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore, Prime Minister Hun Sen of Cambodia, Vice President Bounnhang Vorachit of Laos, Vice President U Nyan Tun of Myanmar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Tanasak Patimapragorn of Thailand, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh of Viet Nam, who came to attend the eleventh China-ASEAN Expo and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit.

 

When meeting with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore, Zhang Gaoli extended welcome to him for visitingChinaand representingSingaporeas the Country of Honor to attend the China-ASEAN Expo and conveyed the warm greetings of Premier Li Keqiang to him. Zhang Gaoli said President Tony Tan Keng Yam, during his visit toChinalast month, has reached important consensus with President Xi Jinping on promoting the development of China-Singapore relations. The Chinese side is looking forward to making concerted efforts with the Singaporean side and taking the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between the two countries next year as an opportunity to make macro planning and scientific guidance, to steadily promote practical cooperation and to tap new growth points of cooperation, so as to push China-Singapore relations to advance with the times.

 

Lee Hsien Loong said the Singapore-China bilateral relations have witnessed sound development. The Singaporean side is willing to work withChinato integrate connectivity with modern service industry and to establish a new Singapore-China inter-governmental cooperation project in westernChina, so as to jointly promote the development of the area.
